When right clicking on the printer and clicking on “set as default”, nothing happens. im using Windows Server 2003

I had the same issue with one of my users,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows did not exist for these users. Restart the spooler after after recreating the key.
The String Value which controls your Default Printer is
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
